 Pharma Anveshan: 2025

I.T.S College of Pharmacy organized National Pharmacy Education Day [Pharma Anveshan – 2025] on 6th March 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff (Father of Indian Pharmacy Education) to recognize his contribution for establishing pharmacy education in India. 

 

The program was organized under the able guidance of Mr. Arpit Chadha, Hon’ble Vice Chairman, I.T.S - The Education Group. He focused on the theme “Entrepreneurship & Startups in Pharma and Pharmacy Practice: Encouraging Innovation, Incubation Centres and Pharmaceutical Startups,” to reinforce the importance of pharmaceutical education and foster the spirit of innovation for continued growth and development of the pharmacy profession in India.

 

The event commenced with lamp lighting and a formal inauguration ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries, faculty & students. This was followed by a brief introduction of Prof. M. L. Schroff by Mr. Subhdeep Yadav (Asst.Prof). 

 

The program progressed wherein Dr. S. Sadish Kumar (Director) expressed his gratitude towards the management for their time and support to organize the program that can enable new ventures to thrive in the evolving pharmaceutical landscape. He encouraged young pharmacists to take entrepreneurial initiatives that will pave the way for ground breaking solutions in drug discovery, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and healthcare services. He also expressed gratitude to the IIC committee members for organizing such an engaging session that fostered interaction between industry and academia. Additionally, he acknowledged the coordinators, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation.

 

The keynote address by Mr. Surinder Sood, Director - PR, I.T.S – The Education Group highlighted the importance of education-driven research and innovation in shaping the future of pharmacy. He accoladed the spirit and presence of our guest and discussed startups and small enterprises that are playing a crucial role in revolutionizing drug discovery, formulation development, digital healthcare, and personalized medicine.  He elaborated on the history of pharmacy from the ancient apothecary system to today’s industrial revolution. He urged the students to germinate new ideas, do innovations and implement them to become technical astrologer who will change the life of modern-era society.

 

Mr. Sandeep Soni, Consultant CXO, Pharma Industry elaborated on the need for entrepreneurship in the pharmaceutical sector, which is essential for addressing unmet medical needs, improving drug accessibility, and developing patient-centric healthcare solutions. He explained to the students about incubation centres, which serve as a bridge between academia, industry, and government agencies, fostering collaboration and enabling young entrepreneurs to translate their ideas into viable business models. He emphasized the requirement of nurturing a startup-friendly environment through incubation centres, policy support, and technological advancements, so the pharmaceutical sectors can continue to evolve, benefiting both the industry and society. He showered the pearls of wisdom by emphasizing that students to have an innovative mindset & competitiveness, always protect their self-rights & help mankind. At the end he asked the students to break the barrier, always believe in the impossible & start with a “YES”.

 

 

Students were deeply motivated by this wonderful exposure and eagerly asked all their queries, which were thoroughly answered. The program concluded with group photography. Ms. Swati Verma (Asst. Prof.) smoothly anchored the conference. Mr. Manish (Asst. Prof.) gave the vote of thanks. He acknowledged that promoting entrepreneurship and startups in pharma and pharmacy practice is vital for ensuring a sustainable and innovative healthcare ecosystem. The function was successfully Co-ordinated by Dr. Manoj K. Sharma (Prof.) and Ms. Swati Verma (Asst. Prof.).
