I.T.S College of Pharmacy organized a Impact Lecture Series on Innovation / Entrepreneurship / IPR sponsored by Ministry of Education Innovation Cell, GoI on 31st May 2024. Shri Arpit Chadha, Honble Vice Chairman, I.T.S The Education Group indicated various entrepreneurial objectives like identifying market opportunities, developing a viable business model, securing funding and resources and building a strong brand identity.

The program commenced with lamp lighting ceremony. This was followed by an introduction to the programme by Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy. He was glad to convey that our college got selected by Ministry of Education Innovation Cell to organize this impact lecture series. He welcomed all the guests, delegates and appreciated the co-ordinator, Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma. He also hoped that all the delegates will get impacted by the session further. The program continued with National Anthem.

Mr. Chaitanya V Narayan introduced Dr. V Kalaiselvan, Senior Principal Scientific Officer, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. Dr. V Kalaiselvan gave presentation on Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Pharmacovigilance and Materiovigilance. He explained the students how PV and MV sector can provide career opportunity in current scenario. He said that the responsibility of IPC is to promote patients safety by ensuring quality, safety and rational use of drugs.
He also explained about medical device classification on the basis of their risk factors. He enlisted certain careen options to students viz. production of medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics, outsourcing by running CROs, drugs/medical devices testing laboratory. Further he interacted with the students through a discussion on pros & cons of working in private sector, public sector & entrepreneurial setup. Towards the end, he appreciated & thanked the management of I.T.S College of Pharmacy for providing him the opportunity to interact with students.

Ms. Iti Chauhan introduced Mrs. Pooja Kumar, Registered Patent Agent (Govt. of India), Startup Facilitator, Mentor, Women Entrepreneur Founder & Director Innove Intellects LLP. Mrs. Pooja Kumar gave presentation on Intellectual Property. She started with the basics of IP by elaborating patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets & geographical indicators. She emphasized that one must possess an idea to file a patent, wherein an individuals legal right starts and can ask for the royalty in future. She quoted various examples to communicate with students energetically. She also explained about patent types (utility, design & plant), patent filling strategies, common pitfalls, compulsory license & patent infringement.

At the end Dr. S. Sadish Kumar S urged the students to think over innovation through modification of ideas, which can initiate a startup with the help of incubation centre at College. Overall, the lecture provided certain take away key points to the delegates like innovate continuously, ensure operational excellence, focus on customer satisfaction, measure and analyze performance, scale the business and contribute to the community.

Ms. Divya Kumari (Asst. Prof.) and Mr. Ritik Saxena (Asst. Prof.) smoothly anchored the program. All the participants were extremely co-operative throughout the session. The feedback from students and faculties were promptly taken. All the queries of the participants were well addressed by the speakers. At the end, Dr. Manoj K Sharma (Prof.) gave the vote of thanks.
