INDUSTRIAL TOUR – B.Pharm (2020-24)
I.T. S College of Pharmacy organized Industrial visit to Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) on 18th & 19th December 2023 for B.Pharm final-year students to create awareness and impart skills about Analytical Research and development (AR&D) in Pharmaceuticals. The tour was organized under the guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group, Mr. Arpit Chadha Sir.
Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy thanked Dr. V. Kalaiselvan, Senior Principal Scientific Officer & Dr. R.S. Ray, Research Assistant, IPC for their help in making this visit possible.
IPC is a body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India; involved in the compilation of Indian Pharmacopoeia, Drug Testing Laboratory and Pharmacovigilance Centre of India (PvPI). The AR&D division of IPC is continuously promulgating changes to analytical test procedures according to the latest technological requirements and it is WHO pre- qualified and NABL accredited in the field of chemical and biological testing.
At IPC, students were welcomed enthusiastically by Ms. Manju (QA Executive-QA Division). The students were divided into groups and were guided by various Department Heads for the further process. Mr. Mahesh Chand (Pharmacopoeia Assistant-RSD Lab) has demonstrated various modern and sophisticated instruments to students like NMR, LC-MS-MS, ICP-MS, AAS and HPTLC along with Microbiology and Phytopharmaceutical labs.
Mr. Nishit (Associate Researcher - MvPI), Mr. Sachin (Associate Researcher - Micro Division) and Ms. Poornima (Associate Researcher – Phyto Divison) interacted and guided them about various career opportunities in Pharmacopoeia Commission. Students were deeply motivated through this wonderful exposure and eagerly asked all their queries, which were thoroughly answered.
All the students were accompanied by Mr Avinash Bajpai (Assistant Professor), Ms Pratibha (Assistant Professor), Dr. Manish Kumar Shakya (Professor), Ms Ayushi Tyagi (Assistant Professor), Mr. Rakesh (Lab tech) and Mr. Amandeep Dahapiya (Lab tech).
