e-Student induction Program 2020

Event Description

I.T.S College of Pharmacy organized an Induction Program from 24th November 2020 -05th December 2020 for B.Pharm first year (Batch 2020-2024) students. The objective of the program was to draw attention towards the problems and challenges being faced by the students at individual, family, society and environmental levels and techniques to handle them. Issues related to the happiness, welfare, aspirations, goals and success in life were explored and dealt with.
The program started at 9 a.m. every day with yoga & physical activities. On the first day, Dr. Sadish Kumar S, Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy interacted with the fresher, emphasizing on the Research in the field of Pharmacy through academics during the program. He started his talk highlighting the importance of the e-SIP and said that induction program inculcates the basic concept of pharmacy in students’ minds and besides, a mandate program to be organized for students entering new course, as per AICTE governing body. In addition he also shared the information about the higher courses offered by I.T.S College of Pharmacy imparting quality education.The coordinator Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Assoc. Prof.) explained the purpose of Induction program and to be positive in all circumstances, Ms. Gurvindar Kaur, Assistant Professor, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, I.T.S College of Pharmacy, shared information about various facilities provided by Institute such as infra-structure, library, IT Labs, faculty members, various committees involved in students activities etc., pharmacy curriculum, university policies related to mandatory attendance to be maintained to appear in examinations and various career options in pharmacy after graduation. After the session, the students inquired about their general queries related to program followed by Dr. Puneet Gupta CEC Member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association and Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association, discussed about the different carrier options in pharmacy sector. He also included the importance of applying theoretical knowledge during the training course in industry and hospital.
A motivational lecture delivered by Mr. R.A Gupta, Vice president, IHPA, Uttar Pradesh. He shared with students about history of Pharmacy and Father of Pharmacy.
Dr. C.S. Ram, Head of Department, Physiotherapy, enlightens the students about importance of physical activity and fitness in their day to day life. Dr. Shalini K. Shawhney, Associate Professor, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, I.T.S College of Pharmacy shared information about the different subjects related to Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr. Praveen Gaur Associate Professor, pharmaceutics, I.T.S College of Pharmacy, spoke in detail about the subject pharmaceutics and the related branches, Dr. Radha Goel Associate Professor & Dr Raj Kumari Associate Professor brief about the Pharmacology and Pharmacogonocy subject respectively. Ms. Rosaline Mishra Assistant Professor I.T.S College of Pharmacy, spoke about Proficiency module with respect to public speaking, how to give an effective public speech and ways to overcome fear of public speaking and described in detail about a very important term Netiquette, “ How to behave on Online Platform”. The literarury session was taken by Ms. Garima Raj Assistant Professor. She spoke about the ongoing pandemic of COVID 19, ways to save ourselves from the pandemic, Dr. Dinesh Puri, Associate Professor, Pharmaceutics, I.T.S College of Pharmacy, discussed about the current scenario of Indian Pharmaceutical Industries. India is the third largest manufacturer in pharmaceutical products globally and one of the major exporters of generic drugs.
Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma covered lectures of Universal Human Values in the e-Induction program; the students explored their self and learnt about natural acceptance, which is essentially required to live in harmony with others. Students were taken to various laboratories, library visit in the department during campus visit in offline session of induction program.
The students participated in painting, singing, dancing activities in the creative arts session. They cleared their problems in the subjects of Maths, in the proficiency module session.
The Coordinator and faculty mentors were assisted by other faculty and staff members of the college to conduct the program effectively. On the last day, feedback & self evaluation session was organised followed by Syndicate Bank, Stationary & Photoshop, Dental hospital, Surya hospital Muradnagar & Research laboratory at I.T.S C.D.S.R., Muradnagar visit.
