Under the guidance of our respected Vice Chairman Mr Arpit Chadha, I.T.S – C.D.S.R organised a live interaction with Shikha Malhotra, Indian Actress and Nursing Officer, today on 17th June at 4.00 pm. She obtained a nursing officer’s degree from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, before joining the film industry to pursue her love for acting. She is the lead actress, of Kaanchli, and had done small roles in movies like Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan (2016) and Taapsee Pannu’s Running Shaadi (2017). She offered her services as a nurse to Mumbai's Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Hospital in Jogeshwari without any remuneration at a time when many people were leaving their jobs because of the highly contagious virus. Even after warning by doctors that the masks may leave permanent scars on her face, she didn't stop from taking on the challenge. She even made a video to create awareness about the need for social distancing and also clanged a thali to express solidarity with doctors and other medical personnel at the forefront of the war against the virus. She loves her profession as an actress and likes to write poetry. She talked about her bond with doctors and nurses and praised our VC Sir as a young personal at such a young age. She also thanked him for providing her the opportunity to talk to her ITS Family where she came first as a guest after becoming an actress. Her inspiration is her mother and father who gave her strength when she was paralysed. She always wanted to be a nursing officer like her mother. She told students about her willingness to help the people during this pandemic situation and retained the essence of this noble profession. She also emphasized on youngsters and motivated them to work hard, not to get scared and never give up in any situation to achieve success as nothing could be as high as your positive thoughts. In future she would like to remain connected with her nursing fraternity in all ups and downs. She gets motivated and inspired with her own journey and even asked all to do the same. As an actress she felt that her high energy level gives her the courage to move forward in life without the fear of failure. During her stay in hospital she uses to spend 8-10 hrs and have special attachment with children and their recovery motivated her to do her work more enthusiastically. She wanted to be available with a helping hand 24x7 for all those who are losing hope in life. Around 35 Postgraduate & undergraduate students, Director and Faculty members of I.T.S College of Pharmacy, Ghaziabad participated in huge numbers. Mr. Arpit Chadha thanked her for sparing time and being on live for I.T.S Family as an inspiration and a great human being. He applauded her as a true motivation for all the budding doctors. He also conveyed his hearty wishes to keep people like her healthy, blessed and smiling always.
