Live interaction with Piyush Chawla, Indian Cricketer

Event Description

Under the esteemed guidance of our respected Vice Chairman Mr Arpit Chadha, I.T.S – Education Group organised a live interaction with Piyush Chawla, Indian Cricketer on 27th May at 6.30pm. Piyush Chawla has played all three formats for the Indian national team. His main weapon is the well disguised googly which has fooled many batsmen. He is a right-arm leg break bowler, and bats left-handed. He is seen as an all-rounder in domestic cricket and is a specialist bowler in international cricket. He represented the India U-19 team at a very young age of 15 and was also a part of the Uttar Pradesh U-22 squad. Piyush was a part of the T20 and the ODI format World Cups, ending as eventual winners in both. He has played a total of 25 ODIs and has picked 32 wickets. Piyush played his first club match for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL in 2008. He stayed there for five seasons and had 57 wickets in 55 matches.

 
He likes the test cricket the most as it keeps you physically, mentally and emotionally fit. He talked about his bond with Suresh Raina & R.P Singh. His inspiration in cricket world is Shane Warne and he loves to bowl Ab Devilliers as he is a challenging batsman. He told students to keep themselves fit, learn and engage yourself with the work you enjoy the most during this pandemic situation. He also emphasized on youngsters and motivated them to work hard with lot of sacrifices wherever needed to achieve success. In future he would like to play for CSK team in IPL. Postgraduate & undergraduate students, Director and Faculty members of I.T.S College of Pharmacy, Ghaziabad participated in huge numbers which left them with a lot of information about his favourites like range rover in car, snooker (apart from cricket). Chennai and Jaipur are his favourite fields to play.

The students found the session to be really interesting and very insightful. As a mentor he felt that the fear of failure must always be removed to perform well. He focused on the point that Education and Cricket should be balanced together, and to this Mr. Arpit Chadha too agreed that education should never be ignored.
