Teachers’ day was celebrated by I.T.S College of Pharmacy at R. Ahmed Hall with full zeal and enthusiasm on 5th September 2019. The event was graced by Mr. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman - I.T.S The Education Group & Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director- I.T.S College of Pharmacy. The function commenced at 12:30 pm with the students welcoming the teachers with tilak and sweets.
Mr. Arpit Chadha greeted the faculty members in his inspirational speech and emphasized that teachers are the backbones for the educational institution; he urged the students to respect their teachers and also quoted the example of recent twitter posts of ace cricketers. The Vice chairman took the students down the memory lane of his childhood and college days and cherished the role played by his gurus and mentors in shaping his life. He then appreciated the efforts of the students and concluded by putting forth the mantra of success “Always respect your Gurus”.
Dr. S. Sadish Kumar motivated the students by his enlightening and thoughtful speech. He spoke at length about how the bonding between the teachers and students has changed over time. He pointed out how today students depend more on technology more than their teachers. He also explained how a teacher stands tall compared to technology. Students were quick to applaud when he said that teachers take into consideration the emotions and intellectual ability of a student while teaching a concept. He ended his speech by asking students to ponder over “Teachers First Google Next”.
Faculty members also encouraged the students by their speech. The students felicitated all the teachers with gifts and presented a vibrant array of cultural performances. Various games were also organized for teachers. The students thanked their teachers for being chisels in shaping their careers, polishing and widening their knowledge. The students promised that they will make their college and teachers proud by becoming pharmacists who will serve the society. The function ended with cake cutting ceremony followed by refreshments. Ms. Madhu Verma, Ms. Nidhi Tyagi & Ms. Anandi (Asst. Profs) assisted the students in organizing the program in such grand manner.
